 Ben Tre Plantation

Binh Dinh

The Tam Quan coconut plantation areas in Binh Dinh province is ranked the 2nd areas of coconut in Vietnam. It is about 13.000 hectares with over 2 millions coconut trees. The most coconut plantations are concentrated in Hoai Nhon, Phu Cat, Phu My district.

Khanh Hoa

With the natural, congruous condition, the coconut in Ninh Da ward is became a famous specialty. The coconut plantation areas is about 3000 trees and provides for the market about 6000pcs every year.

Ca Mau

Ca Mau province has approved the developmental plan to 2020 and the overview to 2030. According, in 2020, the coconut plantation areas will be 7000 hectares.

Tay Ninh

Tay Ninh town is the economic – political – culture center of Tay Ninh province. Areas of gray soil in Tay Ninh are 338.833 hectares about 84.13% natural areas of province. The coconut plantation areas is about 100 hectares and provides for the market about 200000pcs every year.

Ben Tre

Ben Tre's coconut area is approximately 71.129 hectares, yielding around 576.9 million coconuts per year. Coconut plants is very important for economic of Ben Tre Province as the main means of existence for all farmer households. Recently, coconut processing industry in the province has been the rapid development and variety. With the scale large processing capacity, businesses need to consume raw coconuts, create more jobs with good income for local people, contribute to the revenue of the province.

HOMELAND OF COCONUT

 

Ben Tre is one of the 13 provinces of Mekong Delta. Ben Tre province is in downstream Mekong River,
is constituted by 3 big isles that are An Hoa isles, Bao isles, and Minh isles. Look on the map, Ben Tre
province has a fan shape and its areas is 2,360 square kilometres.

 

Ben Tre is the final isle that is gotten alluviums from the Mekong River before flowing into the sea; 

therefore, coconut trees grow better and have higher capacity than other regions. Three districts have
the largest coconut plantation areas in Ben Tre province are Giong Trom, Chau Thanh and Mo Cay district.

EXUBERANT COCONUT PLANTATION

Coconut plantat ion areas of Vietnam is about 200.000 hectares, distributed mainly in the center and Mekong Delta. Specially, coconut plantation areas of Mekong Delta is over 78%, about 156.000 hectares. The rearing model is the small farmer household , disperse widely, average area is below 0.5 hectares. Planting density is 200 trees/hectares.
